On April 18th, 2008, Julia released her second record, Lucky Penny, a project that began in Seattle, WA and blossomed in Milwaukee, WI.

Julia co-produced 11 new songs with Victor DeLorenzo (Violent Femmes) and Mike Hoffmann (EIEIO), including one cover—John Lennon’s Instant Karma, which the 3 of them recorded late one night at The House.

Julia was also lucky enough to work with drummer Ben Smith (Heart), bassist Andy Stoller (Tracy Chapman) and guitarist Jeff Fielder (Sera Cahoone) on a number of tracks for ‘Lucky Penny’.  You can listen to a bit of the funkiest song in their collaboration, You Haul.

Other songs feature world-class drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Sting); as well as additional production and engineering by Ted Stockwell and Billy Sherwood. The record was mastered by Joe Gastwirt, and is available for purchase on this website.
